Marie Curie Cancer Care - Sahara Trek, Bradford Hospice · 6 November 2008 to 10 November 2008 ·
Hello there! - We are all back from the Trek!!
We arrived back at the hospice in Bradford on Monday evening, 10 November, just after 9pm. The desert was unbelievably vast and beautiful, the skies were the deepest turquoise blue - and filled with millions of stars at night. We all became very hot, tired and dirty, as we made our way through the desert, climbing the very highest dunes, as well as trekking across more undulating terrain.
Yet this very diverse group of people remained good humoured throughout. We all helped and encouraged each other, tolerated each other's snoring and giggling at night, and kept smiling all the way. I can honestly say that it was the experience of a lifetime. HUGE thanks to Chris, Emma, Kathryn and - most of all - Brenda, for their EXCELLENT organisation of the whole event.
We are still taking donations, so PLEASE don't stop that money coming in. - Marie Curie does such excellent work, and needs our donations for that work to continue.
The standard fundraising target for this Trek is £1,900, and this includes the costs associated with the trip. I'm setting myself a target of £7,100 as this is how much it costs to keep the Bradford Hospice open for one day!
A HUGE thank you to all those who have donated so generously to date. I'm very grateful to you all.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Please help me to make my trek even more worthwhile for Marie Curie by digging deep and sponsoring me now!
Many thanks and much love, Tess xxxx
