Story
On 13 September, the Tesco Investor Relations and Corporate Communications team will be setting off on a 26km walk across London - all the way from Kennington Superstore to Ponders End Extra.
Our journey is part of the Great Tesco Walk - one of the biggest fundraising events in our history - and we'll be raising money for our National Charity Partnership with Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.
This unique colleague relay walk from Land's End to John O'Groats takes place from 5 September to 5 October. The 2,400km route is broken up into 51 legs.
The inspiration for the walk comes from nearly 30 years ago, when six colleagues took on the same challenge, raising an amazing amount of money.
There are around 4.2 million people in the UK who have Type 2 diabetes and an estimated 7 million living with heart and circulatory disease. These can be serious life-threatening conditions. They are also largely preventable. Tesco, Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) are working together to raise funds to inspire millions of people to eat better, get active, make healthier choices and reduce their risk of Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
We want to make a real difference in this final year of our National Charity Partnership, and would be very grateful for any donations you can make to this very worth cause.
In return for your kind donations, we promise to share photos of our progress (and possibly blisters!)...
Thank you.
