Hello, my name is Terry Pope from Mill Race Farm in Black Bourton, Oxfordshire. I’m planning to drive from John O’ Groats to Land’s End on a vintage 1960 Fordson Dexta Tractor in aid of mental health charity Mind.
My true ambition is to circumnavigate the world on my trusty tractor but I thought I’d do a test run first! I’ve also put my tractor to good use in the past as my wedding carriage, moving home and doing the weekly shop… it’s so much more than just a farm vehicle you see.
The journey should take about 12 days, I’ll be starting out on 15th June. The highlight of this epic trip (apart from reaching Land’s End) will be a weekend break in Hullavington, Wilts on 25th June to take part in “The Great Tractor Challenge” which will be an attempt to secure the world record for the greatest number of tractors ploughing simultaneously in one field! The record currently stands at 1901 tractors and is held by , we must not fail in this quest!
I’m really keen to support the work of Oxfordshire Mind who are at the forefront of mental health services in my local area. In the current economic climate and with massive NHS cuts, funding is an issue which needs our full attention. I am hoping to raise a substantial sum of money for Mind in Oxford and make a contribution to this excellent service in our community.
I hope you will agree that Mind is a worthwhile cause. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Oxfordshire Mind will receive your money faster and, if you are a tax payer, an extra 28% can be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
Terry.
