Running for Mum.
Firstly I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to my 2009 charity SPARKS - we raised £1500. SPARKS are an amazing charity and I was delighted to support them in their goal for all babies to be born healthy and stay healthy.
For 2010 I am supporting a charity very close to my heart - the Katharine House Hospice in nearby Adderbury, where my mum spent her last few weeks before losing her battle with cancer.
The level of love and care she received was something we as a family will never forget.
I will be devoting 2010 to "Running for Mum" with three main events planned - the BUPA 10,000 in London in May, The Great North Run in September - and culminating in the 2010 ING New York Marathon in November.
We all miss mum terribly and I know she would be delighted that we are supporting the people who made her final journey as comfortable as is possible.
Those who know me will confirm that I am not a natural long distance runner and would rather be in the kitchen cooking up a gourmet meal with a glass of wine in hand than pounding the streets in all weather conditions!
So the year ahead will certainly not be a walk in the park!!
If you are interested I will be writing a blog charting my progress which can be found at my running website here.
We are funding the flights and accommodation ourselves so every penny raised here will go to Katharine House.
So thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
