I have been helping to raise money for cancer research, through Relay for Life, since 2017 - Have been team captain for We Love Bury St Edmunds! teams, in various formats, which have raised about £10,000.00 over the years.

This year is going to be slightly different - I haven't got a team of my own to organise, but will be helping out the organisers with various parts of the weekend and raising money with car boots and sale of unwanted items from my house ( believe me there are many of those ).

It is a great cause, which affects most of us through our life, so please do donate as much as possible in these hard times.

How does the money you raise power progress?

- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.

- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.

When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
