Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On the 22nd July 2009, I will be setting off on a unique, life changing challenge to cycle from London to Paris, finishing on the Champs Elysees on the 25th July, the day before the Tour de France concludes in the French capital.

The 300 mile route starts in Blackheath and takes me via Dover, Calais, Abbeville and Beauvais and on to Paris.  75 miles a day for 4 days   Approx 700 of us are in the peleton (cycling term, I'm told) so it should be quite a spectacle.  To add extra incentive for me, on the 27th July it's my 58th birthday, so what better way to celebrate than raising money for a fantastic cause.

Over many years, as a player, coach, administrator, supporter, rugby has given me endless fun and cammeraderie.   Over that time, I have seen many players, with the same enthusiasm for the game, suffer serious injuries playing the game.  This is my opportunity to help them and their families come to terms with the challenges that lie ahead.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RFU Injured Players Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
