Hi im Terry. For the past few years i have been volunteering for CHICKS, a charity who provide respite holidays for kids between 8-15 who otherwise would not have a holiday in that year. Some of these kids come from backgrounds and circumstances that most of us would find hard to imagine. Many have suffered abuse, be that of a physical, sexual, or emotional nature. I have seen first hand how the incredible staff and volunteers make so much difference to these kids lives, giving them not just a holiday, but an opportunity to improve their confidence and self-esteem and maybe most importantly, a chance to see that life can be different. On June 19th i intend to abseil down the Mersey tunnel ventilation shaft in Birkenhead in order to raise as much money as possible for CHICKS and would really appreciate your support. You would be helping to create positive memories for these kids to take home and into adulthood. Thank you ,Terry
