Story

Dear Friends

We are so pleased you are able to share our belated Ruby Wedding Anniversary celebrations on 20 August. As you know, we do not want any presents. It would be great if instead you could give a donation to the charity Myeloma UK which carries out such wonderful and necessary work, supporting research and raising awareness of this awful disease. To find out more you can check out their website http://www.myeloma.org.uk/.

Myeloma is a rare cancer. It is a cancer of the plasma cells which are found in the bone marrow. It accounts for 1 per cent of all cancers and 4,000 people a year are diagnosed with this illness. Myeloma is a complicated disease and affects people in different ways. It can be treatable and people can enjoy long periods of remission but at the moment there is no cure. However treatment has improved dramatically over the past 10 years.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.

We also have the traditional paper sponsorship forms if you would prefer to donate this way,

Many thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you all at our party.
