We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer
Story
At the start of 2019 I set myself a goal to lose weight and get fit. I’m not doing very well so figured I needed a challenge; and then I was asked if I fancied running the Bacchus half marathon - 13 miles around Denbie’s Vineyard where the water stations also offer wine... well if I’m going to run I may as well do it with wine!
And to stop myself from wussing out I’m fundraising for two charities close to my heart, the Dogs Trust and this one Cancer Research. I’m fundraising for Cancer Research in memory of the friends I’ve lost, the friends who have lost people and children close to them and for the benefit of survivors like my Dad who was diagnosed with lung cancer and my friends’ Mum who was diagnosed with stomach cancer and the three friends who are surviving breast cancer right now. It’s also for people like my Mum who has been the strength throughout a tough few months. Little steps to eradicating this horrible disease.
