On the 9th September 2017 Chris and Teresa are doing Thames Bridges Trek in memory of Teresa's brother Del (Derek Wright) who sadly lost his life to undiagnosed liver cancer on 13th December 2015 at the age of just 54. 

The Trek is 25km (approx. 15.5 miles) long and crosses 16 London Bridges - starting at Putney and finishing at Tower Bridge.  Luckily for us there is no time limit!! 😂 As entrants, we have to raise £150 each (=£300) it's a tall call but it would be awesome and beyond our expectations if we could exceed this 😊

Liver disease is a silent killer that can go undetected for many years - often until it is so advanced it is too late to treat, as was the case with Del.  For this reason we have decided that we would like all money raised through our Just Giving page, to be donated to the Foundation for Liver Research: 

"The Foundation for Liver Research was established in 1974 to develop and extend research into diseases of the human liver and to enhance medical research generally.

For over 30 years the Foundation has supported ground-breaking research programmes into liver disease under the direction of Professor Roger Williams, CBE. This work is carried out within the purpose-built Institute of Hepatology located on the Denmark Hill campus of King's College in south east London. The Institute provides laboratory space for up to 50 scientists and is affiliated to King's College London and King's College Hospital. Research is organised around major research projects within the overall theme of Liver Cell Injury and Repair. Current areas of research include viral hepatitis, liver cancer, liver inflammation and metabolism, liver cell injury and metabonomic and proteomic studies"
