Story

2022 is an important year for a number of reasons.

On 2nd June 2022, it will be 10 years since Mark sadly passed away from Sepsis, a condition his family had previously never heard of.

Around that same time, the UK Sepsis Trust was a recently established charity founded by Dr Ron Daniels who had seen too many sepsis related deaths on his critical care unit.

In just 10 years, the UK Sepsis Trust (UKST) has equipped millions of people to look out for the signs of sepsis, supported thousands of struggling families and empowered healthcare professionals across the nation to save even more lives.

To mark the anniversary of the UK Sepsis Trust and in memory of Mark, we are going to 'power up' and complete 10 events in 2022.  We would very much appreciate your support over the year which concludes with our wedding!

The events we will complete are:

1.  Cardiff Half Marathon:  Sunday 27th March

2.  Exeter inflatable 5km:  Saturday 22nd April

3.  Cardiff Bay 10km:  Sunday 22nd May

4.  Ride London 100 miles:  Sunday 29th May

5.  Cardiff Conquer 10km:  Sunday 3rd July

6.  Port Talbot Half Marathon:  14th August

7.  Llanelli Half Marathon / Cycle 4 Sepsis:  25th September

8.  Cardiff Half Marathon:  Sunday 2nd October

9.  Great South Run:  16th October

10.  Margam Park 10K:  30th October

Many thanks for all of your support over the last 10 years. It really is much appreciated by all the family.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
