My Father and The Laird of Gourock, Duncan Darroch of Gourock, was a strong swimmer and he instilled in me at an early age the importance of swimming as a life skill.  For many years he bravely battled the debilitating symptoms of Parkinson's disease and although he passed away on 1st February 2011, I strongly feel his spirit encouraging me when I am open sea swimming.  I am taking part in the 2015 Brownsea Island Swim and aiming to complete this 4.6 miles open sea swim in his memory.  This is the toughest sporting challenge I have ever undertaken and I have been vigorously training since New Year's Day, so please do support me in my aim to raise £5,000 for Parkinson's UK.

Thank you very much. Teen x
