Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of our gorgeous baby boy Ted.

Ted was born in November 2012, he was perfect and brought us so much happiness, completing our little family. After a few months of newborn bliss we were devastated to find out that Ted had a mitochondrial disease, a rare condition that there is currently no cure for. We all remained positive and spent our every moment with our wonderful baby boy when he was in and out of hospital but sadly we lost him when he was 5 and a half months. We love our brave little boy so much and hope that we can do him proud by fundraising in his memory. We hope that raising money for the Mitochondrial Research Fund at Newcastle University can help towards the amazing work that they do and to help raise awareness for this terrible disease.

Mitochondria are in every cell in the human body, they are the 'power plants' that provide the body with all the energy it needs. When a person has mitochondrial disease it means that the cells do not have energy, causing the tissues or body organs not to work properly.

We are organising our sencond bake sale which was a fantastic fundraiser last July and we have ran the Great Manchester Run 10K in May.
