Story
Hi Everyone, I am Ted, the proud mascot for Amazing Feet Running Club (Kidderminster).
I will be taking part in various activities and events over the coming months raising money for Birmingham Childrens Hospital.
One of our members Alex recently experienced the magic this hospital provides when his daughter needed advanced lifesaving treatment at home just 36 hours old. She was then transferred to Birmingham Childrens Hospital where for 4 weeks she spent time in Intensive Care. She was on a ventilatior and underwent multiple operations, blood transfusions and complex tests and procedures to save her life. At 4 weeks old she was moved from Intensive Care to a high dependency ward where she spent 3 months. During this time she received more operations, blood transfusions and underwent treatment for repeat bouts of sepsis. Later on she was moved to a normal ward where she was treated for another 2 months before being allowed to go home. She spent 183 days in hospital before being well enough to come home where she remains an outpatient of Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Serveral of our club members have also at some point had immediate family, relatives or friends children treated at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. We want to thank them for the hard work they do in ensuring they do their very best to make sure every child gets the opportunity to go home with their family.
