Story
Alix's mum Sarah was recently diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), an auto-immune disease which slowly destroys the bile ducts within the liver. Nine out of ten of those affected are women, generally over the age of 35. PBC is currently incurable and its progression varies between individuals and although a rare disease, rates are on the increase. This has given us a good cause to complete a challenge and raise some money for the PBC Foundation, a small dedicated charity which Sarah has relied on for support in recent months whilst coming to terms with the diagnosis. The Three Peak Challenge is a nationally recognised challenge which involves walking the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales in 24 hours. The three mountains (Ben Nevis, Scafell, & Snowdon) total 26 miles and 10,000+ feet in height. It takes on average 14 hours walking time with 10 hours driving between the peaks. We will be completing the challenge on Friday the 6th of August, starting at 5pm, and would be very grateful for any donations!! Thank you, Alix, Grace, and Lauren x
