POST EVENT UPDATE : Brilliant ride everyone!
Well done the WCI cycle team (all 20 riders) for a great ride and to
everyone that sponsored the team and in particular the WCI Charity trust. Donations can still be made on this site so please do so up to the end of September. We have raised over £3,000 here and another £700 on Andy Bye's justgiving page (well done Andy).
Miserable wind and rain at the start didn't dampen anyone’s spirits and despite the odd puncture we all made it to the finish line (and the Beer tent).
The weather cheered up as the day went by and the sun shone brightly (sort of) for the finish. Same again next year……..and maybe, just maybe, the Pru100!
(...........although I might need a lot more training for those hills)
Best wishes all, Karl
Ps Well done Maria from Meacock's who rode the Pru100 with one of our cycle tops - Chapeau Maria

Message from Help For Heroes:
“Just wanted to drop you and the rest of the WCI team an email to say
massive congratulations on completing the Surrey 46 and the Ride London on Sunday and an even bigger thank you for your continued support of Help for Heroes.
You are all legends for taking on the ride in those challenging conditions - hope you have all finally dried off, warmed up and regained the feeling in your toes! Jess and I think we spotted the majority of the team going past at either one of the two positions we were in. We also enjoyed the pictures from your WhatsApp group.
Please pass on our huge thanks to everyone on the team."

Pre-event message:
For the fifth consecutive year, "TEAM WCI"; a team of keen cyclists from the Worshipful Company of Insurers, and friends, will be taking on a cycling event to support the amazing Help for Heroes. This year we have chosen to take part in the Prudential RideLondon.
The team will be taking on the 46-mile ride from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, out to Richmond, and back along the Embankment under Admiralty Arch, for a triumphant finish on The Mall!
This is a fantastic and inspiring ride and we hope to raise more funds than ever before for an excellent cause.
