PLEASE HELP TEAM VERRUCA FIGHT THE BATTLE AGAINST CANCER
On 29th March 2020 myself (Lisa), Graham Cowpland, Bev Hughes, Liz Keeble and Ange Crerar Connor will be swimming 5k at Crosby Swimming Pool as part of a relay team to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
Cancer affects us all - fathers, mothers, daughters, sisters, brothers, friends, work colleagues.... it doesn't discriminate.... it doesn't wait.... it turns every life it touches upside down.
In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive. This has only been made possible through vital research.
Charities such as Marie Curie, The Dougie Mac (Stoke) and Macmillan are also absolutely vital to the battle. The support they provide to the person with cancer and their family is invaluable. These charities make the worst of situations so much easier - they provide essential clinical, emotional, practical and financial support.
£20 pays for a Marie Curie nurse to look after someone with terminal cancer for one hour in the comfort of their own home.
£30 covers the cost of running a cervical cancer trial for 1 day
£50 buys a scientific sieve to separate out big bits and small bits of DNA to reveal vital clues about how to beat cancer
£70 pays for someone with terminal cancer to attend day therapy at a Marie Curie Hospice
ANY DONATION HELPS - BIG OR SMALL!
Thank you for your support
Lisa, Graham, Ange, Bev and Liz
