Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This time last year, a few of Andrew's family, friends and colleagues got together to run the Thames half marathon in his memory and to raise money for PSC Support, a charity run entirely by volunteers. We raised nearly £5000 which was fantastic and we were very grateful. For some of us it was our 1st half marathon and we probably thought it would be our last, but here we are again!!
Not so many of us this time, but a brave few will be trying to get round the course again, on Sunday 29th October, 2 years to the day when Andrew lost his life to the rare liver condition Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis - which means the bile ducts become blocked by scar tissue, stopping the flow of bile out of the liver, ultimately leading to cirrhosis and liver failure. Many of you have all given so generously already and we don't expect to raise so much money this year but if you would like to donate, we would really appreciate it and it would be a great incentive for us to keep running - especially for me, who will be plodding along very slowly, on my own, at the back!!
PSC support is run totally by volunteers and as you may be aware already, there is no cure for people suffering from this condition other than through a liver transplant, so as always I would encourage you to consider signing the organ donor register if you haven't already, (although great news that England will be adopting the opt-out system!)
If you live locally and would like to come and support us - that would be fantastic - it starts and finishes in Walton-on-Thames, and if you are naturally fit, and would like to join us, that would be even more fantastic - I'm sure there are still spaces!
Thanks again to you all for all your support.
