2018 is a big year for all of our team at Bath Abbey. It marks the 10th anniversary of Tower Tours, 3 years since we took part in the Tower Tour Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Footprint, and the beginning of the long awaited Footprint Project! 

To mark these exciting events we are going to take a Leap of Faith! off the top of the glorious Bath Abbey tower. We are all very used to scaling the 212 steps of the Abbey tower, but this time, instead of enjoying the views from the top, we will be performing a daring climb over the windy parapet 49 metres up and abseiling all the way back down again! This will be a huge challenge for all of us so please help us to make our efforts count!

The money we raise will go to Genesis Trust Bath and the Bath Abbey Footprint Project and will help to improve the lives of Bath’s residents and preserve the health and heritage of the city. Genesis Trust brings the local community together to offer immediate practical help to people who are hungry, homeless and vulnerable and provide long-term opportunities for them to rebuild their lives. 

Bath Abbey’s Footprint Project will repair Bath Abbey’s collapsing floor and install an eco-friendly heating system, powered by Bath’s natural hot springs. It will also ensure that the Abbey is more hospitable for its visitors – improving the facilities and expanding its capacity by 200 square meters. This adventurous fundraising effort will provide vital momentum to the future plans of both organisations.”
