Story
Since our husband, Dad, Grandad and friend - Terry Batty - died in 2018 from Pancreatic Cancer just weeks after diagnosis and only a few months of illness, we have all supported Pancreatic Cancer UK to help raise funds and awareness of this devastating disease...
This February we've all joined together as a team in his memory to take part in the charity's "Jog 28 miles" challenge - that's 280 miles between us (and some of us are keen to do more!).
We are Team TMB:
- Valerie Batty
- Lisa Batty
- Tony Harrison
- Elliot Harrison (age 5)
- Elly Mickleburgh
- Paul Mickleburgh
- Charlie Mickleburgh (age 9)
- Teri Newell
- Melanie Chapman
- Chris Snape
If you'd like to join our team for February just let one of us know!
Pancreatic Cancer UK helped us with so much information in understanding what was happening and had happened - it is still so shocking to us when we see the statistics and we all want to help other families get the support they need and support the research for quicker diagnosis and treatment.
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
