Story
Last year Helen, Craig & Beau participated and the boys and I tagged along for support. This year I am going to join them (for part of it at least).
300km for Helen, Craig and Beau isn’t really a big deal but for me who fell off my bike at the top of the drive way and with my longest ride ever being only 42km, well it is going to be quite the challenge 😂
On Friday Helen & Sarah will be riding from Longford to Campbelltown. Craig & Beau will then ride Campbelltown to Bicheno.
Saturday we will ride Bicheno to Scamander (return).
Sunday we will ride Bicheno to Coles Bay (return).
I only got on the road bike for my first ride in November. I graduated to cleats in January and I have had 2 not so graceful falls 😂 So I will ride as much as I can over the 3 days. At least one way Saturday and Sunday. Helen, Craig & Beau will ride approx. 300km in the 3 days.
Help me support Diabetes Tasmania through my participation in PolliePedal Shifting Gears! In Tasmania there are approximately 85,000 people who are either living with diabetes, living with silent, undiagnosed diabetes or are at high risk of developing diabetes, and with a population of just on 520,000 that could be as high as 1 in 6 effected by diabetes and then there is the flow on to family, friends, carers, and colleagues. Your support is needed now more than ever.Your support assists Diabetes Tasmania to continue education programs, run type one kids camps, advocate for all Tasmanians living with diabetes, promote a healthy and active lifestyle for all Tasmanians, run education sessions for a range of health care professionals so they can improve the care of their patients living with diabetes, run community awareness programs, donate to the national Diabetes Australia Research Program and more.Thank you for your support.
