Story
The 10th edition of the wonderful Halow250 charity bike ride is especially poignant for all. We have a great team of riders aiming to complete the last ever Halow250 ride in style – it’s been character building for all of us that have met the challenge over the years and raised nearly £1M for a great and worthy cause. This year Andrew Burr is returning to Team Sykes as the ex Managing Director and a retired old man hoping to complete the 250 gruelling miles alongside a great bunch of mates still working for our 264 year old company. Please dig deep to give both Halow250 and our former MD a great send off.
The Halow250 cycle is in its tenth and final year! The monies raised through 2023's event will see a magnificent £1million raised in total for Halow project across the last ten years. Halow project removes the barriers to opportunities that often face people with learning disabilities. We all want - and deserve - to have friends, to have a meaningful purpose in life, and to enjoy living in the way that we want to. These every day goals can be very difficult for someone with learning disabilities to reach without support - and that's where Halow makes the difference. The charity provides much-needed opportunities to socialise, to be part of a community, to develop talents and to learn key skills, and to find opportunities to work or volunteer. Its 1-2-1 support workers, supported living service, educational programmes, skills sessions and social activities enable the people it supports to live rich, busy and fulfilling lives, as independently as possible
