We provide expert care and support to young people with cancer

Story

On the 8/9th September 2023 the DHS/NSS/SPARES team will take on the daunting challenge of climbing the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in just 24 hours, sleeping only on the minibus whilst driving in between each Mountain. The 3 Peaks consists of 26
miles (42km) total horizontal distance, 3,000m (9,843ft) of vertical ascent.

Climbing just one of these mountains can be challenging enough but
climbing them back to back with only a few hours rest, cramped in a minibus is a going to be a huge test for all involved.

We take on this challenge in support of Teenage Cancer
Trust and the Highbourne’s Group’s commitment to support an amazing, worthwhile charity. Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. They fund specialised nurses, youth workers and Hospital Units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.

If anyone wants to join us for one of the Mountains or just to cheer us along, just speak to Kristian Blackburn for timings.
