We're delighted to be taking part in this year's BBC Children in Need Countryfile Ramble in memory of our dad, John Somerville-Meikle.

November marks 25 years since he died. While the years have passed, not a day goes by when we don't think about him.

On Friday 29 October, we will be walking the stretch of Hadrian's Wall from Great Chesters Roman Fort to Brocolitia Roman Fort (Fort to Fort) - joining people across the country in raising money for BBC Children in Need through sponsored rambles.

Dad was a Classics teacher, and a keen walker, so we think he would have approved of the route we've chosen and the cause we're supporting. 

Gus and baby Eilidh will be joining us for some of the way too.
