We support grieving children & their family to support them through a difficult time

Story

We are running the Plymouth 10km and raising money for Jeremiah’s Journey to show our love and support for our wonderful friends at this very difficult time.

Jeremiah’s Journey is a local bereavement charity that provides support to children, young people and their parents when a loved one has a terminal illness.

We met Andrew and Louise 15 years ago just before we all had our first children and remain great friends. Very sadly, around 6 months ago, Andrew was diagnosed with incurable brain tumours, with a poor prognosis.  He has undergone initial treatment with intensive radiotherapy and is continuing with chemotherapy over the next 6 months, to give him as much time as possible with his family and friends.

Andrew is an inspiration and is using his diagnosis to increase awareness of brain cancer and fundraise for the Brain Tumour Charity to promote research and help others in the future.  He continues to stay as active as he can, regularly doing parkrun and (hopefully) joining us in the Plymouth 10km.

All our boys, (ages 12-14) will be running the 5km too.

Race day is Sunday 14th May 2023 as part of Britain’s Ocean City, Running Festival.

Any support you can give us would be amazing. Thank You!
