Story
At the start of 2021, I agreed to walk 100km in 24 hrs across the Lincolnshire Wolds for charity with 14 others, each of us choosing a charity close to our hearts. We will all be donning our boots on the 29 May - 30 May.
My chosen charity is for my adorable, goddaughter Leonie, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, but this does not stop her bringing joy, smiles and laughs to family and friends, she now spreads her joy over social media gaining many followers.
Two years ago she had SDR surgery to assist in releasing the spasticity in her 4 limbs, her ongoing physio which is required after this surgery is a costly affair and is non funded by the NHS due to the SDR also being non funded. This surgery has given her mobility, the ability to sit unaided, to learn to stand, to gain more independence to enjoy the small things in life many of us take for granted.
She is awaiting major surgery on her hips, knees and legs to make standing easier, with the view that she will continue working with her physios to the ultimate goal of taking that first.
Please help me in raising funds for her ongoing physio and equipment needed to be able to assist her in taking that first step.
