Team Omega is taking on the Monster Bike and Hike to raise money for Maggies Cancer Centres.

Team Omega comprises ten men strong and true (ish) - Iain, Donald, Mark, Alex, Paul, Charlie, Justin, Marco, Alan and Shaun. On the day we will be ably supported by Emma, Diane, Laura and Heather.

The event: The Monster Bike and Hike comprises a 72 mile route along the Great Glen. Starting at Fort William, the team cycles 30 miles to Fort Augustus, and then walks the remaining 42 miles to the finish at Inverness. The event has a twenty four hour time limit, brief breaks for nourishment are permitted.

The event takes place on the 30th April 2011, the day after the royal wedding.

The charity: Maggie's builds and runs centres that offer support to people who have been diagnosed with cancer, and their families. With seven centres in the UK and a further eight in process, Maggie's offers vital psychological, emotional and social support for seriously ill people.

Give us your money! Team Omega has a fundraising target of £4000. Your support will spur us along the way through the dark and cold months of winter training for the event, and the strenuous event itself. Help us to raise this sum and go even further to contribute to a very worthwhile cause.
