Elizabeth Peck is raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity
RBC Race for the Kids 2019 · 12 October 2019 ·
Our daughter Olivia was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in April of 2018 at the age of six. She was quickly admitted for emergency surgery to treat hydrocephalus, then shortly after to insert a port-a-cath. Since then she has remained under the care of the incredible paediatric oncology teams at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Whittington Hospital where she receives weekly chemotherapy. Although considered "benign", her tumour is inoperable and therefore 18 months of chemotherapy was required. It's impossible to believe that those 18 months are now down to weeks as her treatment will discontinue in November, after which she will be monitored via MRI every 3 months...indefinitely.
We are so proud of Olivia for the incredible strength, resilience, and positivity she carried throughout this difficult journey. The outlook is good for Olivia, but there are many other children who we met along the way who need our support. Please join Olivia in raising funds and awareness for families who face very difficult situations, as well as for the professionals who dedicate their lives to caring for seriously ill children.
