Story
On 28 April, Busayo Yusuff, David Smith and Verity Raeside (OC London) will be running the London marathon in support of Mosaic Clubhouse. Mosaic Clubhouse is a fantastic charity based in Brixton that supports and empowers those with mental health conditions. Its aim is to provide people with the tools and opportunities needed to regain confidence and lead productive and satisfying lives.
As a member-oriented organisation, members (who can be self-referred or are referred by health professionals and others) work side-by-side with staff to offer a wide range of services from access to education and employment, crisis support and information and signposting to other local organisations.
Having visited the Clubhouse, we witnessed and learned about the impact the charity has, and is having, on the lives of many. Currently there is a genuine crisis when it comes to dealing with mental health conditions. Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year; many of these individuals fall into self-stigmatisation, isolation and low-self-esteem. Ultimately, there's a sense of embarrassment. These misconceptions regarding mental health problems need to stop. This is why the work done at Mosaic is so important; it provides people with mental health issues access to opportunities, advice and support. Mosaic plays a significant role in bringing about change in the mental health space, but we all know that much more that can be done. For this reason it is our privilege to support this amazing charity. Your donations and support, however large or small, will make a huge difference and we promise to make you proud!
Thank you,
Busayo, David and Verity
