NOTE: All sponsorship money has to be collected by Tuesday 22nd March 2022. Any donations made before then are greatly appreciated as we try to smash our £5000 target.
As new graduates of FirstGroup, we are delighted to be carrying the torch for raising money and awareness for Action for Children who, through their partnership with FirstGroup, are helping young people on their journey to better mental health.
Since the start of the campaign in 2018 the award-winning partnership has helped fund a mental health practitioner to work directly with families at Action for Children’s services. This has sparked over 240 hours’ worth of intervention programmes have transformed families lives. In addition, 139 Action for Children staff have received vital training to help those children and families struggling with mental health problems.
But we know that more still needs to be done.
Even prior to the coronavirus pandemic, life for many vulnerable children had reached breaking point. 850,000 children and young people are struggling with a diagnosable mental health condition in the UK. That’s one child in ten.
The added challenges and long-term impact of the coronavirus will be felt by children, young people and their families for many years to come.
As 75% of all mental illness in adult life starts before the of age 18, it is vitally important that all children and young people have access to the services and support they need.
With your support, Action for Children will continue to be there for children and young people who need support with their mental health and wellbeing. Your donations will be put towards Action for Children's Enrichment Fund and mental health programmes, thus directly supporting children and young people on their journey to better mental health.
