24 Hour Puree Challenge, 13 March 2019
We supplement NHS funding at St George's to enhance the Hospital's services

Story

On the 13th March as part of National Nutrition & Hydration Week 2019, the SLT and Dietetics teams on Mary Seacole Ward are spending Swallow Awareness Day eating nothing but pureed food to raise awareness of swallowing difficulties and the impact this can have on rehabilitation.

In addition to raising awareness of swallowing difficulties, this one day event is fundraising towards the provision of facilities for families who many wish to stay on the ward to be with their relatives at the end of their lives.  We would love to provide some fold down cots, blankets and care packages to make a difficult time a little easier.

If you can spare a few pounds we would be so very grateful . . . or you could join in!

The wonderful Sodexo team at Queen Marys Hospital are suppoting us and providing some lovely pureed meals at lunchtime to make it a little easier to stick with the challenge at work.

Dont forget to swing past the Nutriton & Hydration Week stand in the Lower Ground Floor of Queen Mary's Hospital between the 11th and 15th of March for more information and find out about other events!
