Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are taking part in this event to help raise awareness and funds for the Stroke Association In Memory of Mark Schubert.
In 2011, 3 weeks after Mark's 18th birthday he suffered from a Stroke. Something that we never thought could happen to someone so young who was fit and healty. Mark suffered from one of the more severe Strokes and was diagnosed with 'Locked In' syndrome, however Mark fought bravely and began to gain movement back. He was moved to Rehab and made a great deal of progress, his character growing stronger and stronger, never giving up. His laugh could be heard throughout the Rehab unit. Sadly Marks health deteriorated and after a long fight he passed away in September 2011.
For the last 2years several members of family and friends have taken part in various events for The Stroke Association, Team Mark was created and is growing bigger every event.
It is important that we raise awareness so people are aware that a Stroke can happen to a person of any age and inform people of the signs;
Face, Arms, Speach and TIME!
We will continue to fight, so that other families don't have to go through what we did.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the page, any donation is greatly appreciated!!
