Story
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on 8th august 2023, 2 months postpartum with three children under 5! As I waited for the consultant to meet me in the quiet room I wrote in my notes that if this was cancer my prayer was “Jesus take the horrible and bring Good out of this”.
It has been a tough 6 months of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am so grateful for the incredible research which has enabled these life saving treatments. I have experienced a rich time of tears as I have felt so vulnerable and dependant on others, mixed with joy. Deep joy of friendships and family love, miracles of provision and experiencing new depths of the goodness of God, the faithful and unchanging rock beneath my feet.
This Mighty Hike in the Lake District in June is to raise money for Macmillian who have supported me with much needed clear concise information about treatments and how to cope with the different challenges of a cancer diagnosis. They have also provided me with regular massages in the Chemotherapy ward, which have blessed and nourished my body. I am so grateful for their incredible support.
The half marathon mighty hike feels a “line in the sand” for me to focus on as I recover from the treatment. It is all about celebrating friendships and the beauty of LIFE and Love! The good things THAT ARE more powerful. Thank you for your support, it will help me keep doing a day at a time moving towards full healing. I am so grateful for every one of you!
