Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page!
On Sunday 20th October ‘Team Liz Kay’ will be running the Birmingham Half-Marathon. We will be running in order to raise money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support. However, the true inspiration is to honour the memory of Liz Kay.
Earlier this year, Liz passed away having battled with ovarian cancer for some time. Liz was extremely important to all of us taking part. The Kay household was constantly offered as a stronghold to the friends of David, Michael and Catherine (Liz's children). Her courage, positivity and unbending generosity will undoubtedly inspire us all on race day!
Why we are supporting Macmillan Cancer Support -
Liz had the unfaltering support of family and friends during her illness, and did not have to call upon the care of Macmillan a great deal at all. However, Liz recognised that there are many people suffering with cancer who do not have the same support network. Liz said that if she recovered, she would volunteer for Macmillan in order to emulate the support she received.
Help us help Macmillan -
We hope that you will join us in aiding the fight against cancer and would be very grateful if you would consider offering a donation. Even the smallest amount would be fantastic!
Thank you in advance from all the members of Team Liz Kay:
David Kay, Martin Preece, Alex Hammond, Jonathan Hammond, Ben Simon, Joshua Olomolaiye, Calum McGee, Bobby Bassi, Ailie Knox, Jazmine Bradfield, Kieran Sweeney, Jamie Templeton.
