Story
We are taking part in two teams of four, getting up with the sun to ride: 22 miles off road, following the shore of Coniston lake, followed by a 2 mile paddle course on Coniston water and then a thigh-busting trek to the summit of Old Man of Coniston with a steep climb to 803m.
All this needs to be completed before the sun comes back down!
But the most important bit of this story is that we've taken on this challenge in order raise vital funds for Action Medical Research the leading UK charity funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children and young people.
Action have been funding medical breakthroughs for 70 years now and have helped to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy. By supporting us, you are helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.
