We have decided to raise money this year for Kidney Care UK as they are a charity that means a lot to us after Brandon, Emily’s boyfriend, was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy.

IgA Nephropathy, also known as Bergers disease, is a kidney disorder which can lead to kidney failure. There is currently no cure.

Kidney Care UK provide support to more than 100 patients every week and invest over £3m each year in patient grants. They provide practical and emotional support, fund patient research projects and improve care services for patients who have kidney problems.

As part of our fundraising we (Lucy, Emily and Richard) are doing a half Ironman triathlon Relay, The Lakesman, on 19th June. Lucy and Emily are also doing the Cumbria Way 30 on 17th September, which is a 30 mile race from Keswick to Carlisle! We will also be organising a Ceildh charity night too in November.
