Story
On 8th November 2006, a dear friend, John Carter, sadly lost his fight against cancer at the young age of 45.
John was well known as an 'entertainer', someone who would put a smile on your face if you were down. But most of all John was a gentleman, he cared about the people he worked with and his friends - as if they were a part of his family.
Whilst John brought lots of good things into our lives and the reason for his death is not really understood, it has brought to the front of our minds just how much cancer is a fact of life and the important work that MacMilllan Cancer Support provides - as if they were also part of the family.
Team Johnny has been formed with the support of a great number of John's friends and collectively we aim to raise £12,000 and we hope you will give generously as we train hard over the coming months to complete the London Marathon in John's honour.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
