Story
We are taking part in the Bath Half Marathon 2014 once again to raise vital funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Reserch Fund in memory of Jackie Orme.
With over 200 runners last year, and 100 more in the family fun run, we raised an incredible £130k. The atmosphere and team spirit that day were something truly special and although I realise that this year will be a smaller turnout, I am certain that it will still be another very special day. This year we have 65 runners in the half marathon, so new & some returning, and more in the fun run. And I would love as many of you as possible to come and share the day with us - don't worry, too late to be press-ganged into running now!.
Last year's incredible efforts enabled us to fund a specific 2 year research project into pancreatic cancer under Professor Caroline Dive at The University of Manchester. The research will look into whether pancreatic cancer tumours can be genetically profiled from a simple blood test, allowing both earlier detection and more personalised and timely treatment.
Last year's incredible efforts mean that we are now only £20k short of the £150k required. Jackie would be so incredibly touched, and proud of you all.
