Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Macmillan Cancer

Recently my dad had a stroke and whilst undergoing checks at the hospital they discovered my dad had cancer. As you can imagine that this was devastating  to me and the family. Thankfully this was caught early and after nearly a year of treatment which involved hormone injections for 9 months, Radio Therapy everyday for 30 days and a serious of ongoing medication my dad is now recovering with help from the local hospital.

 

In turn this made me look at myself and my situation. I have a young family, my Wife and my 2 year old daughter. One morning i walked into my daughters room to wake her and i realised if i dont get fit and lose some weight i could face a serious illness sooner than i hoped such as diabetes, high blood pressure or the same as my DAD cancer. This was my wake up call and motavation to get fit and support this cause

 

So why am i doing this ride for Macmillian Cancer?

I wanted to say a big thank you for all the support that my dad was given and i also wanted to raise some money to help others that was not so lucky in the fight against this awful illness.

 

What are we doing for your hard earned cash?

I recently learned that Richard Ward (Numark) had experienced a tough time with both of his parents also fighting against cancer

His dad suffered from bladder cancer and his mother suffered from bowel cancer so this is very close to his heart.

Richard will be out there with us on the day looking to cross the 60 mile line and raise some money for this great and much needed charity.
