Story
After a very straight forward pregnancy, Iestyn was born on the 20th May 2002. It soon became very obvious that Iestyn was not gaining weight as would be expected. After months of worry and tests on the 19th September 2002 Iestyn was diagnosed with a large ventricular septal defect ( hole in the heart ). We were told he needed life saving open heart surgery which was carried out in the October that same year . Iestyn was very closely monitored throughout childhood and I was delighted in 2017 when he was finally discharged from cardiology .My very special boy celebrates his 21st birthday on the 20th May 2023 . I just want to say thank you to the BHF for all their amazing work , without it mine and Iestyns story could have had a very different ending . Thank you for taking the time to read our story, lots of love Team Iestyn ❤️ xxx
