Story
On Saturday 13 October we are taking part in the Little Heroes Walk @ Strathclyde Park.
Ella was born 7 weeks early, weighing 3lb and 15oz, due to placental abruption that started 4 weeks prior to her birth. Placental abruption happens in about one in 150 pregnancies. It's most common in the third trimester but can happen any time after 20 weeks. After an emergency delivery at Wishaw General Hospital in January 2013, Ella spent the first month of her life in NICU and later Cot Room 5.
We have chosen to fundraise for Bliss because we want to make a real difference to the 95,000 babies born premature or sick every year.
Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life.
Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.
