In February 2022, Eden’s Army staged the Garden’s Of Eden Tour. It was a simple plan to try to arrange for around twenty teams of walkers completing a twenty mile course around Kirklees. What followed was simply amazing. Support for Eden was quite unbelievable. Over eighty teams joined the event. Over four hundred and forty walkers, in the most brutal of weather, toured the parks and gardens of West Yorkshire. Our original target of £25,000 was blown out of the water and nearly £200,000 was raised.

Straight after the event last we talked about staging a follow up event in support of Eden. And this is that event plan coming to fruition. Eden’s family want to support Neuroblastoma UK in the hope that this may prevent others facing the challenge that has shaped her life of late.

The 2023 challenge is ‘Miles for Smiles’. This is an amazing girl who, despite the difficult times they have faced through her young life, have always met those challenges head on with smiles. So for her smiles, we can walk some miles. Miles for Smiles will take place on June 24th, 2023, again starting and ending at Scholes Cricket Club. Maybe this year, the weather will be much kinder to us.
