Fun-loving Daya is now in remission after raising funds for life-saving surgery in New Yok in 2018. When she was just eleven months old, Daya was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

Story

In August 2017, Daya was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer. The cancer is a Neuroblastoma. Daya had a huge mass in her abdomen and the cancer had quickly spread to her lymphatic system and bones.

Daya was just a baby and had not turned one yet. She has been battling cancer for over half her entire life. We have completed 8 rounds of physically destructive chemotherapy.

In around 40-50% of children with high-risk neuroblastoma the cancer comes back and of those children fewer than 1 in 10 will survive.

High-risk neuroblastoma is a particularly aggressive and complex cancer to treat. It has a high likelihood of returning, and if this happens the survival rate is very low. Daya’s family are fundraising with Solving Kids’ Cancer because it’s possible she could need treatment in the future that’s not available through the NHS, to give her the best chance of living cancer-free. This would require hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Daya’s mum has been writing a blog which you can read:

Many thanks for your support.
