Story
This is Gethin. Caring, kind, funny, clever Gethin.
Gethin tragically died last year, aged 14, after a short illness and a stay in the Children's Hospital - the same hospital that had been caring for him since birth.
Nic and Gareth, Gethin's parents, are working with the Children's Hospital and the charity team to identify a piece of equipment that they can fund in memory of Gethin to help other families in the future. One idea is to raise money for another state of the art, specialised echocardiogram machine. This really is an important piece of equipment that was frequently used on Gethin and provides high quality, real-time images of the heart.
Judith, Nic, Kris and I are very proud and honoured to be able to be part of Team Gethin The Brave and help to raise some much-needed funds with the Keymers - Our first event is Radley Triathlon - where half the team are complete novices! We will do our very best to swim, cycle and run to make a difference.
Your support will make a difference to patients and staff across our local hospitals. Thank you so much for taking on a challenge to raise funds - with your help we are able to transform our hospitals, creating warm and welcoming environments for patients young and old, equipped with the latest specialist medical equipment. We also fund research and improvements for our hospital staff, including specialist training.Thank you so much for supporting Oxford Hospitals Charity
