Story
On Sunday 3rd October, Ashley will be running his 6th London Marathon in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity - once again as 'Bernard the Bear', the official GOSH mascot! He will be joined by his sister, Helen, Emily's Aunty, as they both try to get the Emily Grote #TeamGOSH fund to £100,000. Since 2015 they have raised £89,971.06 - and therefore need £10,028.94 this year to get to £100k!
Emily is currently recovering from an operation that took place at GOSH on 3rd August this year to try to remove the large tumour in her brain. Thanks to the incredible skill and expertise of her wonderful surgeon and medical team the operation was successful, although has sadly left her completely blind. Throughout this most recent stay at GOSH, we were all privileged and humbled to receive the most exceptional care and support - not least from the outstanding team of nurses on Koala ward, of whom particular mention should be made.
Emily was first diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma - a rare form of brain tumour - back in June 2014, at the age of 3. She has since undergone multiple surgeries at Great Ormond Street Hospital, as well as Proton Beam therapy in Jacksonville, Florida. This most recent operation is a stark reminder to all of us of just how fortunate we are to have received the care and support of GOSH over the past 7 years.
Can you help us get the Emily Grote #TeamGOSH fund to the special milestone of £100,000 this year?
THANK YOU all for your amazing generosity, your love, prayers and support.
