Story
Our twin girls, Daisy and Martha, are now 7. At the age of two, after a long journey back and forth between services, tests, appointments and sleepless nights, Daisy was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Rett Syndrome.
Rett Syndrome often goes undetected in the first year or two of a child's life until skills (such as walking and talking) are lost and a range of complex physical problems (such as epilepsy, feeding difficulties and breathing problems) develop.
Daisy’s health has declined rapidly in the last few years and we have been told by various health professionals that due to the severity of her condition her prognosis is not good.
Reverse Rett have been by our side since Daisy was diagnosed over 5 years ago and we continue to support them to fight for better treatments and one day, we hope, a cure for Rett Syndrome. Daisy now also receives specialist support from a National Rett Syndrome Centre which would not have existed without the funding from Reverse Rett. We hope that in the future, thanks to the work of Reverse Rett, the world will be a much easier place to be for those living with Rett.
Team Daisy Dot will be running together on May 1st to show their support for Daisy and help raise vital funds to improve the lives of so many others living with Rett Syndrome. Thank you, as always, for all your support.
