Story
I was treated at the Georgina unit following my cancer diagnosis in 2017 and so I've experienced first-hand the wonderful care provided by this team. I was a regular at the Day Case Unit for quite a while following my surgery, receiving my Chemotherapy and Herceptin here and I still visit for regular check-ups. The team make it a really positive place, they radiate warmth and friendliness and put you at ease at what could otherwise be a really difficult time – I can't thank them enough”
I love running and I REALLY love Teddy Bears (Or any other cuddly creatures, I'm not fussy) so on 14th August -to mark 4 years to the day since my cancer surgery - I'm running a “Teddy Bear Relay”. This will be 8 X 2 mile laps near my home, with a Baton (aka a Teddy Bear) which will be exchanged after each lap.
Afterwards I plan to relax with a Teddy Bears Picnic - and, of course, make a donation to the page.
Why not join in the fun? If you're more of a team player, or know some little ones, how about a short walk relay with their favourite bears, followed by a Teddy Bears Picnic? Get some friends and family to join in and make a donation to the page.
Or if this all sounds a bit too energetic, maybe just skip straight to the Teddy Bears Picnic - Or even just the picnic - and make a donation. It really doesn't matter how much or little you do as long as you have fun and we all raise lots of money for this brilliant unit.
