Fundraising for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal
Story

In September 2018 I will be taking part in the Grand Appeal's Land End to Bristol cycle ride covering 240 miles in 4 days. My challenge is to raise money for Callum's Star Tribute Fund in memory of mine and Claire's beautiful boy who we lost in May 2014.
Callum had a cough and doctors had diagnosed a chest infection on 13th May. He was otherwise well and had been eating normally, running around playing and behaving perfectly normally. On the evening of 14th May tragedy struck and Callum suffered a cardiac arrest at home. His mummy desperately gave him CPR before being transferred to Derriford Hospital and Bristol Children's Hospital. We were told that Callum had an extremely aggressive and fast growing lymphoma. Callum had shown no sign of anything so serious. We were told that the tumour probably took no longer than 3 weeks to grow and because of its location, caused the cardiac arrest. Despite the efforts of all the doctors and nurses, Callum passed away in our arms on 18th May. He was just just 4 years and 3 months old.
Callum was simply fantastic and he lit up our lives. To know Callum was to love Callum and we cannot describe just how much we miss him. Raising money in his name keeps his memory alive and gives us a focus, whilst helping the work that the Grand Appeal do for children and their families at Bristol Children's Hospital.
