Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
**UPDATE** As a warm up for the GNR next Sunday, Mark completed the tees Pride 10k in Middlesbrough today and earned a PB. Woohoo!! Go on Bradders!!
*UPDATE* Aimee is now unable to take part this year due to injury but Mark is taking one for TeamBradders and doing it for all of us. So all of your generous donations are still going to NEAS and are gratefully received.
We are raising money for #TEAMNEAS as our son Aidan attends North East Centre for Autism - Aycliffe School which is an independent specialist school for children and young people with Autism between the ages of 3 and 19.
The school provides a broad curriculum catered to the individual assessed needs of the students with specialist staff and links with specialist agencies. This has given Aidan the support and encouragement he required to make the progress he has in the three years he has attended. We know this is the best place for Aidan and that he will continue to make progress here.
Living with Autism and related spectrum conditions is challenging but in the right environment for the individual to flourish, is rewarding too. Aidan has learned to read, write, communicate better and have better conversation at this school. He has also gradually broadened what were very limited food choices, experienced shopping and leisure activities out in the community, and receives personalised 'in-house' Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language interventions. All of these opportunities are made possible by the small class sizes, one-to-one support and specially trained staff.
The society also provide family support, toddler groups, holiday activities and workshops as well as respite, short breaks and supported living.
Thanks for reading this. We will do our best to make all our sponsors and #TEAMNEAS proud!!!
