Our Dad, Michael has been restricted for the past several years by Primary Progressive Aphasia, a rare form of Dementia and has been immense in dealing with it yet the impact has been incredibly tough to witness.

Last year was a great achievement to raise so much money from taking part and completing both the London Marathon in that crazy heat and the insanely brutal Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge. Over 2 days we took on the unforgiving coastline running and walking from Poole through to West Bay - 100KM in extreme temperatures, just look at our photo to see the state of our faces by the end of it!

So despite Mark ending up in A&E with a ruined tendon in his foot from carrying on for over 35 miles with it in a mess 'Team Blaggard' regroups this year to do it all over again and more!

All 3 of us are taking on the Jurassic Coast Challenge this June and really need your sponsorship to help get us over that line. The impact of the injury is still impacting Mark with his training which meant he had to give up his charity place on this year's London Marathon to Phil in the hope that he can take on the Jurassic again.

It is an incredible experience but without doubt the hardest physical challenge we have ever known! Please give what you can, this isn't about us, we have the easy part. It is for our Dad and also Mum as what they do on a daily basis is inspiring but incredibly difficult.

The on September 9th we will all be running the Simplyhealth Great North Run - an iconic half marathon in the North East.

• £100 could provide the tools for scientists to map 10,000 genes in
minute detail, identifying targets for the development of new
treatments.

• £500 will cover the cost of a sensitive brain scan for a patient
involved in a research study, tracking the effectiveness of new drug
treatments, improving diagnosis and better understanding how diseases
like Alzheimer’s wreak their havoc in the brain.

• £1000 will pay for reagents, unique chemicals that are crucial for
successfully growing cells in a laboratory ready for disease study.

• £2500 will allow researchers to buy synthetically made amyloid, to
better understand this hallmark Alzheimer’s protein in the lab.
